REPORT OF COMMITTEE ON CURING OF CONCRETE PAVEMENT SLABS

COMMITTEE OPINIONS ARE SUMMARIZED WITH RESPECT TO THE VARIOUS CURING METHODS THAT HAVE BEEN USED AS ALTERNATES TO CURING WITH WET COVERINGS. A REVIEW IS MADE OF THE AVAILABLE INFORMATION RELATIVE TO THE FOLLOWING CURING METHODS; WITH CALCIUM CHLORIDE ADMIXTURE, WITH BITUMINOUS COATINGS, (ALSO RELATION OF TEMPERATURE TO CURING METHODS), WITH SODIUM SILICATE, WITH PAPER AND INTERMITTENTLY WITH WATER. THE EFFORTS OF THE COMMITTEE WILL BE CONCENTRATED IN THE FUTURE UPON SUCH FUNDAMENTALS AS METHODS OF TEST FOR QUALITY OF CURING, THE PHENOMENA OF THE ACTION BETWEEN WATER AND CEMENT AND THE EFFECTS OF SUBGRADE. /AUTHOR/
