PART I DEALS WITH THE GENERAL ASPECTS AND FUNDAMENTAL CAUSE OF BLEEDING, AND THE LAWS WHICH GOVERN THE RATE AND AMOUNT OF ITS OCCURRENCE. BLEEDING IS SHOWN TO BE A PROCESS OF SUBSIDENCE OR SEDIMENTATION. THE RATE OF BLEEDING FOLLOWS A GENERAL LAW DERIVED FROM POISEUILLE'S LAW OF CAPILLARY FLOW. FACTORS AFFECTING BLEEDING CAPACITY ARE DISCUSSED. PART II CONCERNS PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF PRINCIPLES SET FORTH IN PART I.
