BOND STRENGTH AS A FUNCTION OF STRAND TENSION AND CEMENT PASTE CONTENT FOR LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE CONCRETE
THE EFFECT ON THE BOND STRENGTH, AS MEASURED IN A PULL-OUT TEST, OF STRAND TENSION AND CEMENT PASTE CONTENT WAS INVESTIGATED. SEVERAL CONCRETE MIXES USING A COMMERCIAL LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE WITH CONVENTIONAL SAND WERE USED IN THE INVESTIGATION. RESULTS SHOWED THAT A DECREASE IN PRESTRESSING FORCE WAS ACCOMPANIED BY A SLIGHT INCREASE IN BOND STRENGTH WHILE AN INCREASE IN CEMENT CONTENT PRODUCED A SLIGHT DECREASE IN BOND STRENGTH OVER THE RANGE OF VARIATION OF THE PARAMETERS CONSIDERED. /ACIJP/
