INFLUENCE OF THE DIMENSION AND SHAPE OF CONCRETE MEMBERS ON THEIR SHRINKAGE /IN FRENCH/

TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT ON A SERIES OF PRISMS PREPARED 100 X 100 X 400 CM. MEASUREMENTS WERE TAKEN OF THE SUPERFICIAL AND AXIAL SHRINKAGE DURING 850 DAYS. AT THAT AGE SUPERFICIAL SHRINKAGE IS PRACTICALLY STABILIZED, BUT FOR PRISMS WITH 100 CM LONG SIDES, IN WHICH THE PHENOMENON IS STILL TAKING PLACE AXIAL SHRINKAGE IS ONE THIRD OF THE SUPERFICIAL SHRINKAGE. TO VERIFY THE INFLUENCE OF THE VOLUME/SURFACE RATIO, SAMPLES HAVING THE SAME RATIO BUT SHAPED AS CUBES AND PLATES WERE EXAMINED. RESULTS SHOW THAT THIS PARAMETER IS NOT SIGNIFICANT. /LCPC(A)RRL/
