EFFECT OF CALCIUM AND SODIUM SALTS ON HYDRATION KINETICS AND COMPOSITION OF CEMENT STONE AND CONCRETE

INVESTIGATIONS INTO ACCELERATING EFFECT OF CHEMICAL ADMIXTURES-SULPHATES, CHLORIDES, CALCIUM AND SODIUM NITRATES AND THE PRODUCTS OF THEIR INTERACTION WITH CEMENT CLINKER MINERALS ARE CONDUCTED AT THE CONCRETE TESTING METHODS LABORATORY, THE NIIZHB, USSR GOSSTROY (THE RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF CONCRETE AND REINFORCED CONCRETE, SOVIET STATE COMMITTEE ON CONSTRUCTION). ACCELERATING EFFECT OF ADMIXTURES AND THE PHASE COMPOSITION OF NEOFORMATIONS HAVE BEEN STUDIED BY DIFFERENT METHODS: LIGHT AND ELECTRON MICROSCOPY, DIFFERENTIAL THERMAL ANALYSIS, X-RAY ANALYSIS AND CALORIMETRY. IT IS FOUND THAT CHEMICAL ADMIXTURES, SUCH AS SULPHATE, CALCIUM CHLORIDE AND NITRATE, ACCELERATE CLINKER HYDRATION PROCESS. SODIUM SALTS SULPHATE, CHLORIDE AND NITRATE HAVE NOT CONSIDERABLE ACCELERATING EFFECT ON THE PROCESS OF CLINKER HYDRATION. AS A RESULT OF INTERACTION OF CALCIUM AND SODIUM SALTS WITH ALUMINATE COMPONENT OF CLINKERS APPROPRIATE COMPLEX COMPOUNDS ARE FORMED. /A/CRIC/FESR/LCPC/RRL/
