THE INFLUENCE OF SHRINKAGE STRESS ON THE CREEP IN HARDENED CEMENT /IN GERMAN/

A FORMULA IS PRESENTED, BASED ON THE SUM OF EXTERNAL LOAD AND SHRINKAGE STRESS CAUSED BY SIMULTANEOUS DRYING, FOR CALCULATING THE RATE OF CREEP IN HARDENED CEMENT AT A GIVEN MOMENT. THE EQUATION IS COMPARED TO MEASUREMENTS CARRIED OUT ON HARDENED CEMENT WITH A 0, 3 AND 0,65 WATER/CEMENT RATIO. HYDRATION LASTED 28 DAYS BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE TESTS. THE RATE OF CREEP WAS MEASURED UNDER FIVE DIFFERENT EXTERNAL LOADS, THE HEAVIEST BEING EQUAL TO HALF THE ULTIMATE LOAD. THE RATE OF CREEP CAUSED BY SHRINKAGE STRESS WAS DETERMINED ON MOIST UNLOADED SAMPLES. THE CONSTANTS OF EQUATION MENTIONED ABOVE ARE DETERMINED FOR TWO DIFFERENT TIMES AND COMPARED TO MEASURING RESULTS. TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE PRECISION OF THE MEASUREMENTS THOSE VALUES ARE CONSISTENT WITH EACH OTHER. /RRL/LCPC/A/
