TEST RESULTS SENT TO THE RILEM SYMPOSIUM ON ACCELERATED HARDENING OF CONCRETE WITH A VIEW TO RAPID CONTROL TESTS /IN FRENCH/

THESE TESTS ARE PART OF A GENERAL STUDY ON CONCRETE STEAM CURING TO EVALUATE THE INCREASE IN CONCRETE STRENGTH AFTER 24 HOURS DEPENDING ON THE NATURE OF THE CEMENT. THE CURVES OF SUBSEQUENT HARDENING OF TREATED AND NON-TREATED CONCRETE ARE ANALYSED, BOTH TYPES OF CONCRETE BEING KEPT UNDER THE SAME CONDITIONS AFTER 24 HOURS. USING THESE CURVES THE STRENGTHS OF TREATED AND NON-TREATED CONCRETE ARE COMPARED AFTER 24 HOURS AND 28 DAYS. AN ATTEMPT IS MADE TO PREDETERMINE CONCRETE STRENGTH AFTER 28 DAYS BY THE 24 HOUR ACCELERATED TEST. FORMULAS ARE GIVEN FOR PORTLAND AND BLAST-FURNACE CEMENTS. /LCPC/RRL/
