TITRATION USING CALCEIN AND ERIOCHROME BLACK T AS SPECIFIC METAL INDICATORS RESPECTIVELY. FOR DETERMINING THE ALKALIS THE BECKMAN DU FLAMEPHOTOMETER IS REQUIRED. AFTER THE MATERIAL IS DECOMPOSED BY ALKALINE FUSION WHICH IS INDISPENSABLE FOR SILICON OXIDE-DETERMINATION MOST OF THE COMPONENTS OF CEMENT OR SIMILAR PRODUCTS CAN BE DETERMINED OUT OF THE ONE SAMPLE. WITH MINOR MODIFICATIONS SUCH AS VARYING THE WEIGHT OF SAMPLE OR ALIQUOT PORTIONS THIS PROCEDURE CAN BE APPLIED ALSO TO OTHER SILICOUS MATERIALS. THE ACCURACY AND REPRODUCIBILITY OF THIS METHOD AS WELL AS AGREEMENT WITH STANDARD CONVENTIONAL METHODS ARE VERY GOOD. /AUTHOR/
