THE INFLUENCE OF VARIOUS MANUFACTURE PARAMETERS ON THE QUALITY OF CATIONIC EMULSIONS /IN FRENCH/

IN A LABORATORY STUDY PRIOR TO EXPERIMENTATION IN A PILOT UNIT, AND SUBSEQUENTLY IN AN INDUSTRIAL INSTALLATION, AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO BRING OUT THE INFLUENCE OF CERTAIN PARAMETERS INVOLVED DURING THE PRODUCTION OF ACID EMULSIONS ON THE QUALITY OF THE EMULSIONS, AND PARTICULARLY ON THE PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION CURVE. WITH REGARD TO TEMPERATURE THE FOLLOWING WERE EXAMINED: (1) THE INFLUENCE OF THE TEMPERATURE OF THE BITUMEN, THE TEMPERATURE OF THE AQUEOUS PHASE BEING KEPT CONSTANT. (2) THE INFLUENCE OF A CONCOMITANT VARIATION OF THE TEMPERATURES OF THE BITUMEN AND OF THE AQUEOUS PHASE, THEIR SUM BEING FIXED AT 195 C. WITH REGARD TO THE USE OF FLUXING OIL, THE FOLLOWING WERE EXAMINED: (1) THE INFLUENCE OF THE FLUXING OF THE BITUMEN BY KERESENE, AND (2) THE INFLUENCE OF THE ADDITION OF KERESENE IN THE AQUEOUS PHASE. /LCPC/A/RRL/
