CATIONIC SLURRY SEAL

THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CATIONIC EMULSION TO MINIMIZE THE EFFECTS OF INCLEMENT WEATHER AND THE LENGTH OF REQUIRED CURING TIME ON THE ROAD IS DISCUSSED. THE FACTORS WHICH MUST BE CONSIDERED IN THE USE OF ONE SUCH CATIONIC EMULSION IN THE PRODUCTION AND LAYING OF A SLURRY SEAL ARE LISTED AND EXEMPLIFIED. THE BEST AGGREGATE FILLER MIXTURE, EMULSION QUANTITY, MIXING TIME AND TEMPERATURE ARE DISCUSSED. SOME GUIDES ARE PRESENTED FOR THE LABORATORY TESTING OF THE MIXTURE AND THE SEAL. /CGRA/
