STRESS OF ROADS UNDER TRAFFIC LOADING /IN GERMAN/

EXISTING METHODS OF DETERMINING STRESSES AND DEFORMATIONS OF THE ROAD STRUCTURE CAUSED BY TRAFFIC LOADING ARE STUDIED. COMPARISONS ARE MADE OF ROADS CONSIDERED AS AN ELASTIC-ISOTROPIC HALF SPACE AND AS A TWO OR THREE LAYER SYSTEM, AND STRAINS IN THE MULTILAYER SYSTEM UNDER HORIZONTAL TRAFFIC LOADING ARE EXPLAINED. THE AIM IS TO ILLUSTRATE THE VARIOUS METHODS OF CALCULATING STRESS AND TO SIMPLIFY THESE METHODS BY THE USE OF GRAPHS AND TABLES. /FG/RRL/
