HUSH PLEASE - DROPHAMMER RIG DRIVING SHEET PILES

THIS ARTICLE DESCRIBES THE HUSH PILING RIG, A DROP HAMMER RIG THAT WILL DRIVE SHEET PILES IN ANY TYPE OF GROUND TO NOISE LIMITS WITHIN THOSE RECOMMENDED IN THE WILSON REPORT ON NOISE. THE RIG CONSISTS OF A DROP HAMMER OPERATED FORM A STANDARD CRANE GUIDED WITHIN A VERTICL RECTANGULAR BOX MOUNTED ON RAILS. THE BOX COMPRISES A FRAME WHICH ALIGNS BOTH HAMMER AND PILE PRECISELY IN THE SAME PLATE AND WHICH IS ENCLOSED BY A SPECIAL SOUND-MUFFLING CLADDING. /TRRL/
