CONCRETE OPTIMIZED MIX PROPORTIONING (COMP)

A METHOD OF PROPORTIONING CONCRETE MIXES IS PRESENTED, BASED ON THE CONCEPT OF OPTIMIZATION, TO GIVE CONCRETE OF MINIMUM COST. ASPECTS OF WORKABILITY AND STRENGTH HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED BY EXPRESSING THEIR FUNCTIONAL DEPENDENCE ON THE MIX INGREDIENTS. GRADING CONSTRAINTS HAVE BEEN IMPOSED TO ASSURE ACCEPTABLE AMOUNTS OF THE VARIOUS AGGREGATE SIZES. A COMPUTER CAPABILITY DESIGNATED COMP (CONCRETE OPTIMIZED MIX PROPORTIONING) HAS BEEN GENERATED TO FORMULATE THE PROBLEM AND CARRY OUT THE OPTIMIZATION FOR CONCRETES WITH UP TO FOUR SEPARATE AGGREGATES. THE PROGRAM IS FLEXIBLE AND WILL ACCOMMODATE THE INTRODUCTION OF MODIFIED OR NEW CONSTRAINTS. /AUTHOR/
