A Guide to Transportation Funding Options: A Website Development Project
As our nation’s transportation demand continues to grow due to population increases and an expanded economy, elected officials at all levels of government are faced with difficult decisions regarding mechanisms to adequately fund the maintenance and expansion of transportation systems. This project produced a concise, user-friendly website for leaders and policy-makers that describes the array of transportation funding options that are or may be available for use throughout the country. The site describes each funding option and, where possible, offers links to projects that are using or have utilized a particular type of funding. Phase 1 of the project includes funding for highways. Subsequent phases will focus on other modes of surface transportation.
