A MODEL FOR THE SIMULATION OF STREAMFLOW DATA FROM CLIMATIC RECORDS
A DIGITAL COMPUTER MODEL OF THE RAINFALL-RUNOFF PROCESS WHICH OPERATES ON A TIME INTERVAL OF ONE DAY OR ONE HOUR IS DESCRIBED. THE MODEL ATTEMPTS TO SYNTHESIZE THE COMPONENT PROCESSES INTO A SYSTEM WITH A HIGH DEGREE OF PHYSICAL CORRESPONDENCE TO THE CATCHMENT SITUATION. IT IS INTENDED FOR USE IN AN ENGINEERING CONTEXT AND EMPLOYS PHILIP'S INFILTRATION THEORY, A NON-LINEAR CATCHMENT ROUTING PROCEDURE AND NON-LINEAR GROUNDWATER STORAGES. EVAPOTRANSPIRATION IS ESTIMATED USING MCILROY'S COMBINATION METHOD OR EVAPORIMETER DATA. /JH/
