Nissan's approach on floating car data system

Probe traffic information (also known as floating car data) generated based on probe information collected from an actual running vehicle is effective to current VICS traffic information in respect of the cover area and accuracy to search for the fastest route by the use of traffic information. New technology is described that involves a decrease of the probe information data size, probe system connection with the external probe provider and a considerable improvement of the data collection efficiency by using owner-driver taxi.
