Esecurity as a Prerequisite for Safety – An Overview Including Related Legal Aspects
Electronic systems are spreading fast in today’s road traffic. Along with the expected safety benefit goes the threat of new dangers that might be provoked. However, safeguarding systems from misuse and manipulation is therefore necessary in order to provide for future safety in road traffic. The paper deals with today’s situation and the emerging necessity for eSecure systems. In the following the common understanding of the term eSecurity is outlined in examples revealing the present state in transport. Legal aspects are discussed alongside.
