Vehicle Inboard Device for Wheelchair Storage
This paper describes how a fairly simple and very rugged, almost universal device was designed in order to automatically store a wheelchair inside a vehicle. The device can be used by most disabled people with upper limbs mobility. It does not require any special strength or movement from the operator and the vehicle only needs to have four doors and a fairly flat rear floor space. The device can be adapted to most cars, even smaller ones, and can take care of most wheelchairs with only minor modification.
