An Unusual Case of Car Seat Burn
Varying degrees of morbidity and mortality are associated with burns resulting from a variety of automobile-related causes. The majority of such burns result from road traffic crashes. Car battery issues, including leakage of acid, may result in chemical burns. Heated car seats have been increasingly involved in cases of car seat burns. The authors present a case study involving an adult who sustained car seat burns through an electrical short circuit in a rear passenger seat, and then discuss automobile battery location.
