Biomechanical and Scaling Bases for Frontal and Side Impact Injury Assessment Reference Values
The purpose of this paper is to offer, in one document: (1) a list of the Injury Assessment Reverence Values (IARVs) for measurements made with biofidelic side impact dummies, and also for the Hybrid III and CRABI front impact dummy families; (2) the scaling and/or biomechanical bases for these IARVs; and (3) a comparison of regulatory compliance limits and IARVs and how they affect design of restraint systems.
