'Confusing' zones prompt total re-think
This brief article comments on the confusion caused by misleading signage in controlled parking zones (CPZs) in the UK. Motorists are unfairly penalised by unclear and over-complicated signing regimes, although the government has no plans to review the CPZ concept. CPZs are intended for waiting and loading restrictions, with variations for permitted parking. Local authority officers showed a lack of technical understanding and it was seen as unreasonable to expect drivers to understand the restrictions.
