Over Water Construction Using Falsework
This book focuses on falsework erected over water for the construction of wharves, piers, dolphins, trestles and bridges. It begins with a discussion on the evolution of falsework design. The author then describes the different types of over water structures, followed by a detailed look at the components of over water falsework for piers and wharves. This is followed by two extensive sections covering falsework design for cast-in-place concrete wharves and piers, and cast-in-place and precast concrete and steel girder bridges. Drawing from the author's fifty years of experience in falsework design, the book then offers examples of design calculations and details for wharves, piers, dolphins, and bridges. The book concludes with a discussion on falsework failures.
