The MVR Decoder Digest

This book has two major sections - 1. a) state profiles of driver license classes, restrictions and endorsements; b) violation codes, points and descriptions; and 2. the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) Conviction/Withdrawal Code Dictionary (ACD Codes). Driving records, also referred to as motor vehicle records or MVRs, are tools employed by a number of groups and industries. Driving records contain four basic pieces of information: (1) driver license status; (2) convictions of traffic violations and accident involvement; (3) administrative actions, adjudications, and withdrawals; and (4) personal driver information. This reference book is a companion to the MVR book. It will help the reader translate the abbreviations and codes of licensing categories and violations that are detailed on MVRs (driving records).
