FUEL-EFFICIENT FLEET MANAGEMENT
This guide collects together in one document information on fuel technology, vehicle selection and efficient management systems. It is based on the practical experience of many leading fuel operatorsand has been written in conjunction with the Association of Car Fleet Operators. It is aimed at all classes of operators and applies equally to cars and light commercial vehicles. It deals with simple paper-based systems and more complex computer analysis. Cost savings of over 5% can be achieved through improved monitoring measures alone. The guide enables operators to assess current performance, identify areas where performance can be improved, adopt techniques and ideas which have proved successful for other fleets, and establish an on-going fuel performance system. Other ideas involve driver training, reducing business travel and improved cost management.
