RECENT WORK ON MOVA
This paper describes a number of current studies on ways to improve the signalised junction control system MOVA, developed by TRL. The forthcoming M5 release of MOVA will provide users with improved dataset handling, and the incorporation of Compact MOVA will allow the installation of MOVA at low-speed urban junctions where IN-detector positioning problems were previously prohibitive. MOVA M6 will give users the ability to make MOVA more responsive to pedestrian demand, and will improve the efficiency of setup and operation through automatic saturation flow measurement. Future work will continue to improve the MOVA system, especially in the areas of data setup and simulation.
