DYNAMICS CALCULATION MODEL FOR PASSENGER-CAR EQUIVALENTS
There are many methods use to calculate passenger--car equivalents (PCE), but the results from different methods vary largely. From the fundamental reason why vehicles interact each other, this paper uses power factor as index to evaluate PCEs. Power factor can not only reflect the process of speed varying with road condition and dynamics better, but also describe the vehicle type differences existing in practical traffic stream exactly.
