THE DISPLAY METHOD OF ROUTE INFORMATION AND DRIVER SUPPORT INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPENDING ON THE DEGREE OF CONSCIOUSNESS OF A DRIVER AND FEATURES FOR THE ELDERLY
In recent years, remarkable advancements have been made in the field of ITS, technology and various types of information systems have become available to drivers. In these systems, it is required that necessary information be furnished to drivers in a speedy, precise and harmless manner. They should not interfere the drivers in a meddling or annoying fashion. Here, we would like to present a displaying method that functions in accordance with the state of the driver. The importance and urgency of the information is relayed to the driver through ITS technology in a gentle and comfortable way. In this method, the information is presented using images and sounds, which are determined by three elements: degree of urgency of driving, degree of consciousness/concentration of the driver, and visual deterioration in older drivers.
