AUTOMATIC SURVEYING SYSTEM OF ROAD SURFACE FOR SECURITY AND COMFORT OF THE TRAVELLING VEHICLE
The study focuses on automatic surveys techniques of numerical type for the acquisition and elaboration of data concerning road surfaces. The aim of the work is to define an innovative methodology of survey that allows acquiring, during the running of the vehicle, information on the characteristics of the road surface through proper recording tools that are not physically in contact with the surface itself. In particular it is proposed the usage of technological process of the Remote Sensing, adapted to the transportation's needs, to acquire, in real time, numerical data characterizing the portion of road surface that precede the running of the vehicle to improve the comfort and security of the running. The study proposes, referring to the acquirable data, characteristic indexes of the road surface whose values can be used to prearrange and optimize the vehicle asset depending on the characteristic of the road to pass through.
