HEADWAY MODELLING UNDER MIXED TRAFFIC ON URBAN ROADS
Headway data collected at different sections of urban roads in New Delhi have been analysed in this study using three distributions: exponential, log normal and hyperlang. The hyperlang distribution was found to be the best descriptor of headway under mixed traffic conditions. The model parameters of this distribution are correlated with traffic volume on a section. The generalised model proposed in this study is applicable to traffic volume of 900-1600 vehicles per hour. (a)
