MEASUREMENT OF EDGE EFFECTS ON PAVEMENTS WITH THIN ASPHALT SURFACING

The paper discusses a full-scale pavement test performed at Sandmoen near Trondheim, Norway. Two different pavements were constructed, one of them instrumented for the measurement of load responses at different depths and offsets from the pavement edge in the base and subbase layers. Results from controlled traffic and plate loading are reported in this paper.
