MAGNET TEST PROVIDES A QUICK INSIGHT INTO THE HYDRAULICITY OF MACADAM
MAGNEETPROEF GEEFT SNEL INZICHT IN HYDRAULICITEIT VAN STEENFUNDERINGEN
By adding hydraulic slag to mixed granulate, the bearing capacity of this pavement foundation material is increased considerably. As a result, there is less need for expensive asphalt, but you have to be certain that the intended bearing capacity has been achieved. However, the presence of (a sufficient amount of) hydraulic slag in the mixed granulate cannot be determined visually and a quick method of inspection is lacking. Grontmij thinks it has found the answer to this problem: the magnet test.
