TCC 2000: A NEW RADIO SYSTEM, COMPUTER DISPATCH SYSTEM AND CONTROL CENTER FOR METRO TRANSIT'S 950 BUS FLEET
A complete modernization of the systems and facilities supporting control center operations has been undertaken by Metro Transit of Minneapolis/St.Paul, Minnesota. The paper presents information on all aspects of coordinating the multiple projects, including siting, design and construction of the control center building and development and implementation of the computer aided dispatch with automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL) and an automatic passenger counter.
