NEW RADIO, COMPUTER DISPATCH AND CONTROL CENTER FOR METRO TRANSIT'S 950 BUS FLEET: STATE OF THE ART 800 MHZ REGIONAL RADIO SYSTEM
The paper discusses the modernization of the systems and facilities supporting their control center operations by Metro Transit of Minneapolis. As part of this system, a new and expanded Transit Control Center (TCC) was constructed, a new computer aided dispatch with automatic vehicle location system (CAD/AVL) with automatic passenger counter (APC) subfleet was implemented, and converted to the first digital 800 MHz, and installed an independent radio system for data communication.
