DEVELOPMENT OF MICROSCOPIC TRAFFIC SIMULATOR FOR AHS EVALUATION
The Microscopic Traffic Simulator "Smart Infrastructure Performance Analyzer" (hereafter referred to as SIPA) has been developed for the evaluation of AHS (Advanced Cruise-Assist Highway Systems) before introducing to the real road. The simulator includes such models like AHS roadside function, vehicle control function, driver response model etc., and the main purpose of the system is to clarify the relation between AHS penetration rate and congestion improvements. In this paper, at first function of the simulator model is described, then development procedure, verification and validation are described. Lastly the utilization of the simulator for evaluating ITS policy is suggested. (A*) For the covering abstract see ITRD E110327.
