EDUCATING YOUNG DRIVERS IN NORTH CAROLINA: A REVIEW OF CURRENT PRACTICES
The specific tasks to be carried out as part of the project included: review existing information and form project steering committee; conduct a statewide mail survey of high school driver education teachers and program coordinators; and conduct a telephone survey of teens who have recently completed a high school driver education course. The overall goal of the project was to provide an updated accounting of current practices with regard to educating young novice drivers in North Carolina, and to lay the groundwork for an even stronger statewide driver education program. This report summarizes the project results.
