ELASTO-PLASTIC INTERFACE STRESS ANALYSIS OF FRP RETROFITTED BEAM
The paper reports on the development of the elasto-plasticity interface stress analysis with the assumption of elasto-plasticity relationship of glue layers. The analysis was based on the basic equilibrium equations and deformation combatability relations between beam and FRP plate. The plasticity zone during the load history could be determined using iterative methods. The technical computation language Matlab allowed the implementation of the computation and the result shows that the elastic solution overestimates the shear stress in the plastic zone and the plastic zone arises near the plate end, while the nonlinear characteristic of the adhesive layer has little influence on the interfacial normal stress.
