STUDIES OF CONCRETE STRUCTURES WITH FRP BARS
As one type of high-performance reinforcement for concrete structures, fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) bars have the characteristics of anticorrosiveness, high tensile strength, light weight, low shear strength and low elastic modulus, and high cost. Since 1995, systematic studies on bond behaviors of FRP bars in different environments, performance of concrete structures with nonprestressed FRP bars, and bonded and unbonded FRP tendons have been carried out in China. This paper briefly presents some of the results of these studies.
