INNOVATIVE DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM KEY TO SUCCESSFUL GEOTECHNICAL EXPLORATION PROGRAM
Planning and designing a large geotechnical exploration program under a tight schedule requires access to field and laboratory test information. This paper describes an innovative restructuring of information flow to produce geotechnical data reports in an efficient and fast way. The system, centralized data management (CDM), stores all necessary project information in one accessible location, it has virtually no communication costs and complete, accurate data is always available. The paper demonstrates the benefits of the CDM model.
