CUSTOMER SURVEY OF OLDER FLORIDIANS
The elder population comprises one group of customers the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) serves. The FDOT developed a mail survey instrument to ascertain the level of satisfaction of older Floridians in the following areas: (1) How well a driver is able to see key signing and road markings; (2) Experiences in the State Highway System construction zones; (3) Travel on the State Highway System within the community; (4) Public transportation in the area; and (5) Overall satisfaction with various aspects of the State Highway System. The Florida State University Survey Research Laboratory undertook a survey of older Floridians identified by the FDOT through a list provided by Florida's Department of Elder Affairs. Survey instruments were mailed to a random sample of 1,100 Floridians from this list. Of the 1,100 households contacted, 40% (447) responded to the customer satisfaction survey. This report summarizes the results of the mail survey.
