ANALYSIS OF MOVING AND FIXED AUTOBLOCK SYSTEMS FOR KOREAN HIGH SPEED RAILWAY
Railway authorities of several countries are studying a new autoblock system: the Moving Autoblock System (MAS). As the efficiency of MAS has already been verified through various studies, especially in a line with different types of traveling trains, MAS is adapted as an autoblock system in some countries to increase their line capacity. The efficiencies of MAS and a Fixed Autoblock System (FAS) for a Korean high-speed line with two different train models are analyzed by computer simulation. The results show that MAS is more efficient than FAS in the line capacity. This paper considers only the braking distance of two trains. All other factors will be considered in the next phase.
