CAR-PASSING RECORDING SYSTEM USING AMORPHOUS WIRE CMOS MI SENSOR

In this paper, the author propose a new car-passing recording system using two amorphous wire CMOS magnetoimpedence (MI) sensors built into a rectangular flat board set on the road, in which two sensor heads are set in vertical form. When a car passes above the board, two MI sensors accurately detect the magnetic field generated by the car body. The speed and length of a car can be estimated using the signals detected with two MI sensors, by calculating the cross-correlation function to detect the time interval passing over two sensor heads, in which the threshold field was adjusted corresponding to the magnitude of the detected field. The proposed recording system is useful not only for traffic control but also for a traffic census for environmental design of a large city residence
