LORAN/EUROFIX/EGNOS INTEGRATION TEST & VALIDATION PROGRAMME (LOREG)-CONCEPT AND RESULTS
The dream of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) satisfying the sole-means of navigation requirements has not become reality. Today, the future of radionavigation is expected to be the integration of different diverse systems which are able to augment each other and act as appropriate back-up systems. NELS (Northwest European Loran-C System) and Telematica developed the Loran-C/Eurofix/EGNOS Integration Test & Validation Programme (LOREG) to investigate the interrelation between Loran-C/Eurofix and GPS (Global Positioning System), DGPS (Differential GPS), and EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System). Measurements have been performed between January and August 2001. Static and dynamic measurements took place for land and maritime applications as well as for time synchronisation.
