EUROCRETE-USING ADVANCED COMPOSITES TO REINFORCE DURABLE CONCRETE STRUCTURES
This paper describes the progress of a pan-European project aimed at providing durable reinforcement to the construction industry. Major barriers to the application of polymer composite materials in the concrete environment are surveyed and the project progress towards overcoming the obstacles and establishing international standards is outlined. The demonstration of this new technology is highlighted by the presentation of Europe's first all polymer composite reinforced concrete footbridge. (A) For the covering abstract see ITRD E104933.
