AGC'S HIGHWAY DIVISION: EYES ON THE PRIZE
This article discusses initiatives of the Associated General Contractors of America's Highway Division. Reauthorization of the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21), which expires in September 2003, currently is the division's primary focus. The Highway Division is working to preserve the gains made in TEA-21, increase the size of the program, speed up the approval process for highway improvements, increase work zone protection and reform the Clean Air Act conformity process. To achieve these goals, the division has joined coalitions with other construction industry organizations and business allies.
