TERMINAL SURVEY IN HELSINKI

SELVITYS HELSINGIN KESKUSTAN TERMINAALEISTA

According to preliminary plans the number of platforms in the bus terminals of Helsinki city center will decrease by the beginning of next decade. Also the number of parking spaces for buses will decrease. In order to coordinate the changing supply of platform capacity and good level of service of public transport, possibilities to decrease the demand for bus terminal platforms were examined. Alternative route plans, new operational principles of bus fleet and personnel and a switching platform system in bus terminal operation were studied.
