HOW TO ANALYSE TELEMATIC NEEDS IN LOGISTICS
This paper describes the process by which the guidelines for development of freight transport telematics in Finland up to the year 2005 were defined and what were the results. User needs were measured by analysing order/delivery processes in a supply chain. Telematic applications can create very useful value-added services, but first of all their basis must be in order. Most important is to produce telematic services that can be used in the control of deliveries, and this should focus on deliveries that are not just-in-time. For the covering abstract, see IRRD 490001.
