ANNUAL TRAFFIC VOLUME REPORT 1996

The Transportation Section of the Engineering Department has been carrying out traffic volume studies on Saskatoon streets extensively since 1960. This data, besides being used for traffic planning and control purposes by Engineering Staff, has been made available to commercial enterprises, other city departments, safety organizations, research groups, and to a lesser extent the general public. This is the twenty-third annual report that compiles and summarizes available traffic volumes and other pertinent data. While it is not practical to include in detail all available information stored by the Transportation section, from experience the enclosed information will satisfy most enquiries and cursory investigations. This is not a technical thesis on traffic volume studies and analysis, but rather a compilation of information for general use and reference. Brief explanations are offered where necessary and references made of additional data and information available in the Engineering Department for those who wish to pursue a more detailed study. (A)
