SHEAR STRENGTH OF HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE (HPC) I-GIRDERS

Due to recent optimization of I-girder shapes for maximum flexural efficiency and increasing use of high performance concrete (HPC), shear strength controlled member design is possible. The purpose of this research is to theoretically and experimentally establish a limit on shear capacity before member size must be increased. Recent experiments have shown that a key factor is anchorage of the prestressing steel at the member end.
