REGIONALE BEDIENCENTRALES VOOR BRUGGEN EN VOOR SLUIZEN. FASE 1 BUREAUSTUDIES [REGIONAL CONTROL CENTERS FOR BRIDGES AND LOCKS. PHASE 1, DESK RESEARCH]
This report examines work station concepts that can be applied to the development of regional control centers for multiple bridges and locks. The authors suggest that operators will need to merge the operations that belong to bridges or locks that are handled quasi- simultaneously. They conclude that this can only be achieved when operator work stations are tuned to the maximum task requirements and operator capabilities. The report analyzes the level of tuning that already exists, and then looks at what further improvements and innovations need to take place.
