VALIDATION OF WAIMSS INCIDENT DURATION ESTIMATION MODEL
This paper describes efforts focused on validating the traffic incident duration estimation model of the wide area incident management support system (WAIMSS). The model predicts the incident duration based on an estimation tree which was calibrated using specific incident data. Statistical analyses and an error analysis validated estimations and provided encouraging results based on estimation errors and percentages.
